You Tube announces new amendment to its Partner Program

You Tube was a very profitable partner program when it was launched five years ago. This gave an opportunity for all to sign up and use the service, like uploading videos and sharing the videos. This was also a big scope to start making money. In fact, this free platform became a very big success until the identification of some problems. These were misuse of accounts, content and causing reputation issues.

To battle against all odds, You tube has now announced an amendment to its partner program. Effective from now on, creators will be prevented from earning money until they hit 10,000 lifetime views on their channel.

You tube trusts  that this demarcation will give a better scope to collect enough information on a channel. Further, this feature will not disappoint any new upcoming independent creators to sign up and use the service.
“In a few weeks, we’ll also be adding a review process for new creators who apply to be in the YouTube Partner Program. After a creator hits 10k lifetime views on their channel, we’ll review their activity against our policies,” Ariel Bardin, YouTube’s VP of product management says in a blog post.

Apart from safeguarding the videos of creators, scam artists will also be identified as the new rules protect You Tube to keep away offensive videos from the reputed brands who invest money for the purpose of marketing on their platform. This was also a major problem for You Tube recently.

“This new threshold gives us enough information to determine the validity of a channel,”  Bardin says.

“It also allows us to confirm if a channel is following our community guidelines and advertiser policies.”

As new and effective changes get implemented to streamline the business of You Tube,  particularly when it's getting closer to the world of prime-time television, the new creators have much in store to learn and practice.
